What does the term ‘offboarding’ mean?

Offboarding is the process that takes place when an employee leaves the company, whether they’re moving on voluntarily or not. Here, stakeholders deal with equipment retrieval, access revocation, and remaining offboarding steps for resigned employees. This is different from IT offboarding, which primarily deals with disabling accounts/credentials, equipment returns, and company data protection.
