What does the term ‘onboarding’ mean?

Onboarding is where company stakeholders help a new employee settle into their role and learn about their responsibilities, team, and workplace. It covers everything from paperwork to introductions and training. It’s a whole different process from IT onboarding, which is more about making sure new employees have the right devices, software, and login credentials from day one.
