What is an advanced shipping notice?
Suppliers send an advance shipping notice (ASN) to let the receiver know exactly what’s on its way. It’s a heads-up for your team that makes order fulfillment smoother and your supply chain more efficient.
Tip from the pros: A good ASN should feature (so employees are not left guessing like they’re opening a mystery box):
- Packaging instructions or special handling notes
- Purchase order number
- Product details and quantities
- Expected delivery date and time
- Carrier and tracking information
