What is procurement?

Procurement involves sourcing and purchasing the goods and services a company needs to operate. Anything from purchasing software licenses to securing the hardware your team depends on every day, or even hiring contractor services, is all considered procurement.

IT procurement, specifically, is the process of sourcing and purchasing IT assets. IT procurement is essential in keeping companies up and running so that new employees can start off on day one. IT assets are replaced when they come to the end of their life cycle.
